Warm Weather Animal Warnings For Motorists And Outdoors Men
April 13th, 2011 . by admin
As the temperatures rise in spring, many people look forward to the time they can spend out enjoying the great outdoors. Also during this time, the native wildlife are beginning to become more active and it is important to take the proper safety precautions so that a fun time can be had by both human and animal alike.
While driving in wooded areas, be watchful for animals such as deer, raccoons, opossum, skunks and other critters that may attempt to cross roadways. Not only is a collision quite dangerous for the animal involved, but the vehicles and humans involved could take quite a bit of damage too.
While on foot, you’ll want to wear the proper clothing. Heavy boots with good traction, long pants and long sleeves. Also be aware of snakes that may be hidden under piles of leaves or in rock crevasses.
Keep food stored in proper locations- don’t keep it in your tent, and make sure to dispose of all trash and food garbage in the proper locations.
Be watchful for signs that may advertise bear or moose sightings in your area. As exciting as it sounds, these animals need to be respected and could be dangerous.
